Turkey's national assessment centre, ÖSYM, released the results of the 2026 KPSS associate degree session on 30 October 2026 at 06:15. The exam had been held on 4 October, and scores are available in ÖSYM's online results system. According to figures shared by ÖSYM president Bayram Ali Ersoy before the exam, 1,593,198 candidates were due to sit it.
KPSS is the Public Personnel Selection Examination, the test that controls access to most civil service posts in Turkey. It runs separately for bachelor's graduates, associate degree graduates (two-year vocational programmes) and high school graduates. The associate degree score is called P93.
What is a P93 score used for?
Two routes into public employment. In central placement, institutions report their vacancies, ÖSYM publishes a preference guide, candidates rank the posts they want, and places go to the highest scorers who also meet each post's requirements. Separately, some institutions hire contract staff on their own and use the KPSS score as an entry condition or a ranking criterion. Either way, the score never works alone: it is compared with everyone else who applied for the same post.
Does a score of 80 mean 80 percent correct?
No. KPSS reports a standardised score. Raw marks, correct answers minus a quarter of the wrong ones, are converted using the average and the spread of everyone who took that session, and P93 then weights the General Ability and General Culture tests equally. The number tells you where you stand within that year's group, not what share of the paper you got right. When a session is hard, fewer correct answers are needed for the same score.
Two practical consequences follow. Comparing raw marks with a friend only means something if you sat the same session. And targets are better set by post than by score. A hypothetical: 78 may fall short at a popular institution offering three posts and comfortably clear another offering forty in the same round. Past cut-off scores are a guide, not a promise that the same posts will be offered again.
What should candidates check on the results page?
The breakdown by test comes first. Correct and wrong answers in each test show which half pulled the score down.
Then save the result document with its verification code, because institutional job ads often run for short windows. Finally, note the exact name of the diploma programme. Preference guides tie each post to specific programmes through qualification codes, and a programme with a similar name is not a match.
When can the new score be used?
The first placement round of 2026 took preferences from 9 to 16 July, before the new results existed, so it ran on 2024 scores. The first large round for the new P93 will be KPSS-2026/2. Its preference guide is expected in December; exact dates and the list of posts will only be firm once ÖSYM publishes it, so ÖSYM's own announcements are the place to check.
How long does the score stay valid?
Two years from the announcement, according to the 2026 application guide, and if no new exam is held in that time, the score stays in use until the next results are published. The associate degree and high school sessions only run every other year, and neither appears in ÖSYM's 2027 calendar, released on 28 October 2026. Whatever a candidate scored this autumn is the score they will apply with throughout 2027.
The difference between the score types is covered in KPSS score types P3, P93 and P94, and the three exam levels are compared side by side in how the bachelor's, associate and high school KPSS differ. Anyone aiming at the 2028 session gets the most out of the first month by working through the weaker of the two tests topic by topic and listing what is missing.
