KPSS 2026 Results Are Out: What Comes Next for Bachelor's, Associate and High School Level Candidates

KPSS 2026 Results Are Out: What Comes Next for Bachelor's, Associate and High School Level Candidates

For bachelor's degree holders who sat the exam in September, the wait ended on the morning of 7 October 2026. ÖSYM, Turkey's national exam authority, opened the bachelor's-level results of KPSS 2026, the civil service exam, on its results system, and candidates began checking their scores with their Turkish ID number and password. Now the real question begins: with this score, when and where do you apply? Associate degree and high school level candidates, meanwhile, are still waiting for their own timelines. The three groups have different dates, and it pays not to mix them up.

When were the KPSS 2026 bachelor's-level results announced?

On Wednesday, 7 October 2026. The date was already in ÖSYM's annual calendar, and the authority kept to it. The General Aptitude and General Knowledge session had been held on 6 September, and the Field Knowledge sessions on 12 and 13 September. On the results screen, candidates see their net score for each session they sat and their scores calculated by score type.

No printed result document is sent out. When an institution asks for proof of your score, a printout of the result document from ÖSYM's results page, which carries a verification code, is enough; institutions use that code to confirm the document.

When will the associate degree and high school level results be announced?

The associate degree exam took place on Sunday, 4 October 2026. According to the calendar, its results will be announced on 30 October 2026. High school level candidates have not sat their exam yet: the KPSS high school level exam will be held on Sunday, 25 October 2026 at 10:15, and the results will be published on 19 November 2026.

One detail matters for high school level candidates. In ÖSYM's usual practice, exam entry documents appear on its candidate portal, the Aday İşlemleri Sistemi, roughly ten days before the exam. Downloading the document from ais.osym.gov.tr and checking the exam venue in advance saves needless panic on the morning of the exam. In the meantime, high school graduates can do their final revision with the KPSS topic tests.

When will the KPSS-2026/2 preferences be submitted?

The preference period for the second central placement of 2026 into public sector posts and positions will open on 17 December 2026 and close on 24 December 2026. A candidate who has just received a bachelor's-level result will therefore wait more than two months before the preference screen opens. That time is not meant to be idle; once the preference guide is published, working out which posts recruit with which score type and under which conditions takes hours.

The point to watch here: the preference guide and the list of posts are published as the preference period approaches. The "unfilled quota" and "cut-off score" lists currently circulating online belong to past placements. The results of the previous placement, KPSS-2026/1, were announced on 24 July 2026; the cut-off scores from that round only give a rough idea and do not guarantee that the same post will open again this time.

How should I interpret my score?

For bachelor's-level candidates, the basic score type is P3; those who sat the field knowledge sessions get additional score types. Which posts use which score type is explained in detail in our article on KPSS score types. The score on its own means little; what counts is the gap between it and the previous cut-off score of the post you are aiming for.

Two separate comparisons are needed. First, the score of the last candidate placed in a similar post last year with the same score type. Second, how hard this year's exam was overall. When average net scores fall in an exam, the same score corresponds to a higher rank; so it is healthier to look at where the score sits within the year rather than at the raw net. Candidates who did not sit this year but whose 2024 score is still valid can also submit preferences in the same period, because a bachelor's-level KPSS score is valid for two years.

What should high school level candidates do until 25 October?

With less than two weeks to go, consolidating what you already know makes more sense than learning new topics. In the high school level KPSS, all the general aptitude and general knowledge questions come in a single session, so dividing up the time has to be rehearsed. Two full mock exams a week, and on the days in between only an analysis of the questions answered wrongly or left blank; for most candidates this rhythm is enough in the final two weeks. Our guide to analysing mock exam results will make reading those results easier.

Exam day has its small but decisive details. A national ID card or other valid ID, the exam entry document, and being in the hall before the set time. In ÖSYM exams, a candidate who arrives after the designated time is not admitted; every year this rule costs some candidates a whole year.

When is the next KPSS, and how long is the score valid?

At bachelor's level, KPSS is held every year; the date of the 2027 exam will be set by ÖSYM's 2027 calendar, which has not yet been published. The associate degree and high school levels are held in even-numbered years. So a high school graduate sitting the exam on 25 October will find the next high school level KPSS in 2028; the score from this exam is valid until then, for two years. Since the bachelor's-level score is also valid for two years, a 2026 score can be used for both the 2026/2 placement and the placements in 2027.

Central placement is not the only place the score is used. Many institutions set a KPSS score as an application requirement in their own recruitment and then hold a written or oral exam; these announcements appear throughout the year on the institutions' own websites. A candidate who thinks their score is not enough for central placement can follow institutional announcements and be appointed by another route with the same score. These announcements also spell out the score type and graduation requirements, and they need careful reading.

What are the common mistakes after the results?

The most common mistake is deciding, the moment you see your score, on the basis of social media debates about whether "this score gets you into that institution". Placement depends on the post's conditions as well as the score: degree field, age, and for some posts a gender or certificate requirement. These conditions are written in the guide's post entries, and even a single letter's difference can make a preference invalid.

The second mistake is forgetting about the exam entirely until December. The preference period lasts eight days; a candidate who reads the guide for the first time in those eight days usually ends up rushing. Those who mark the posts matching their score type as soon as the guide is published and check the conditions one by one have only the order of their preferences left to decide on the preference screen. That is the whole difference.
