What Is the Quick IQ Test, and Who Is It For?
The quick IQ test is a 12-question accelerated version of our 28-question full test, containing one sample of every question type: number sequence, logic matrix, visual puzzle, shape assembly, symbol search, pattern and digit memory, Schulte table, Stroop, memory cards, colour recall and verbal comprehension. The questions run on the same engine and the scoring is recalibrated for 12 questions; the result appears in about 5 minutes.
One thing to know: fewer questions means lower precision — which is why the result here is an estimated IQ score and labelled as such. If you are short on time, warming up, or just after a quick idea, the quick test is for you. If you plan to take your result seriously, give 15 minutes to the 28-question full test; we also explain how the scoring works on the methodology page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the quick and the full test?
Same content, different scope: the full test asks 28 questions with several samples of each type and gives the most precise measure; the quick test produces an estimate from 12 questions with one sample per type. Both are free and need no sign-up.
Is the result my real IQ score?
The quick test's result is an estimate — a 12-question sample cannot reach the precision of the 28-question measure. Treat it as a preview; take the full test for a precise measure.
How long does it take?
About 4-5 minutes on average. Time is part of the scoring: at equal accuracy a faster finish earns a small speed bonus, a very slow one takes a small deduction — just like the full test.
Where is my score saved?
Quick test scores never mix into the full test's weekly table; they go to their own leaderboard, which also has a "This Month" tab. Entering a nickname is optional.
Will repeating the test inflate my result?
Somewhat, yes — the question pool is fixed, so familiarity helps on repeats. Your first run is the cleanest measure; treat later ones as practice.
Is the test free? Do I need an account?
Completely free; no membership, download or registration. It runs right in the browser and the result appears the moment you finish.
